The Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 2 blowout loss to the New England Patriots is still coming back to haunt them, as the NFL just handed out a hefty fine to standout linebacker Payton Wilson.
According to ESPN's Brooke Pryor, the league fined Wilson $8,480 for unnecessary roughness over his facemask penalty late in the game against Patriots running back Corey Kiner.

Facing a third-and-10 with around 1 minute remaining in the game, Wilson attempted to tackle Kiner but ended up grabbing his facemask, pulling him around as other Steelers defenders closed in. Officials flagged Wilson for 15 yards for the play, and it gave New England an automatic first down.
Wilson's fine is the first for any Steelers player this season. Hopefully, the team can learn from this mistake and rally together to avoid any unnecessary penalties moving forward. After all, the Steelers hardly need any more self-inflicted setbacks.
