On the day the Pittsburgh Steelers cut their roster down to 53 players, the team also pulled off a pair of trades. One of those trades was sending offensive tackle Broderick Jones to the Dallas Cowboys in an exchange of picks that included the Cowboys third-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Jones' journey in the NFL has been marred by position changes and a near career-ending injury that left him as the odd man out in Dallas. Jones talked about it and took a not-so-subtle shot at the organization for his problems when they moved him back and forth from left and right tackle.
"For me, I would just say bouncing around, just not being able to get my feet set," Jones said. "That was a challenge for me. Coming in, hopefully I can stick to one side.
Compete for that, get comfortable, get familiar with it, get familiar with who I’ll be playing next to and go from there.”

Jones was the Steelers first-round pick in 2023 NFL Draft. The team has drafted three first-round offensive tackles in the last four years including Max Iheanachor in 2026.
