During a recent crossover episode of the “Locked On Steelers” podcast, host Christopher Carter highlighted the precise dynamic facing Pittsburgh’s offensive line as they prepare to face the New England Patriots.
"Aaron Rodgers is still very precise,” said Carter. “Like his arm strength and arm talent is all there. Like that's not what's changed. What has changed is the man who has been sacked more times than anyone else
in else in NFL history.
“He can't take it as much is because he's 42. He'll be 43 years old in, you know, a few weeks. So, like when you look at Aaron Rodgers, to me, the biggest thing the Steelers, they have to not only protect him and keep him from being sacked, but keep him from being regularly pressured."
When pressure leaks into the pocket, Rodgers' execution degrades quickly, leading to skittish footwork and broken play timing.
"Because if you, like to your point, Aaron Rodgers, if he gets skittish in the pocket, all of his football IQ starts going out the window. Don't let him have to move his launch spot too too often."
