Kuntz, who began his career
as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots in 2017, also spent time with the Denver Broncos (2018) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2018–2019) before joining the Steelers in 2019, but was unfortunately released. He went on to play for the XFL's Dallas Renegades in 2020 before returning to the Steelers and becoming their starting long snapper in 2021.
Kuntz is the first Steeler to win the award in 2026, with the team's last winner, DeShon Elliott, earning the recognition last season. An unsung hero on special teams, Kuntz deserves his flowers not only for earning the award, but also for helping those in need.
