As if the injury bug couldn't hit the Pittsburgh Steelers any harder, the team received a troubling update on Wednesday.
According to ESPN's Brooke Pryor, Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was spotted with his left foot propped up on a scooter he was using to wheel around the locker room, which isn't exactly great news just a few days out from the Week 5 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts
."Steelers WR Michael Pittman Jr. came through the locker room with his left foot propped up on a scooter," Pryor wrote via X. "Pittman, who’s been dealing with a foot injury this season, was on the field participating in stretch with the rest of the team during the viewing window."
Pittman, who was traded from the Colts to the Steelers in March
2026, has played in 98 career games and made 89 starts. He's recorded 5,343 yards and 25 touchdowns over his ongoing seven-year NFL career.
After leading the team in receiving yards in the regular season opener, Pittman sat out with a foot injury in the Steelers' Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots. He returned in Week 3 but hasn't been productive over the past several games. Some of Pittman's recent struggles could be due to not being 100%, but the Steelers need to figure out a solution to their receiving woes in a hurry, injury or not.
If Pittman can't suit up in Week 5, the Steelers will need to lean heavily on Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard to help take some of the pressure off DK Metcalf, another receiver who hasn't looked particularly great in 2026.
