On the final day of roster cuts, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded offensive tackle Broderick Jones, landing the team an extra third-round pick in the 2027 NFL draft. With that trade and the Steelers roster moves wrapped up, we decided to update our Steelers 2027 NFL mock draft ahead of the start of the college football season.
First round - WR Cam Coleman - Texas
The Longhorns get Cam Coleman from Auburn and he and Ryan Wingo form what might be the best tandem in college football. Coleman's size and body control make him a complete receiver and would be a perfect player to line up with Germie Bernard next season.
Second round - S Jelani McDonald - Texas
In Patrick Graham's defense, Jelani McDonald would be the perfect downhill strong safety who plays with impressive instincts and physicality. McDonald would be a great pairing
next season with Jaquan Brisker and Robert Spears-Jennings.
Third round - G Evan Tengesdahl - Cincinnati
At this point, until Jennings Dunker takes over the right guard spot, we leave the door open for a guy like Even Tengesdahl who plays with incredible strength and leverage.
Third round - OT Niki Prongos - Stanford
After trading away Jones, Pittsburgh needs a good swing tackle with starter potential and we expect a big jump from Niki Prongos and he could be a bargain here.
Fifth round - RB Jamal Roberts - Missouri
Rico Dowdle and Jaylen Warren are both playing in 2027 on the final year of their contracts so we expect an addition here. We love the explosion and acceleration of Jamal Roberts, along with excellent contact balance.
