Mike Tomlin went viral after revealing his massive 12-year Minecraft project, and although he's been praised for sharing a side of himself no one has seen before, one former Pittsburgh Steelers running back is less than impressed.
On a recent episode of Netflix's White House with Michael Irvin, former Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell blasted Tomlin over his Minecraft hobby, blaming the video game hobby for Pittsburgh's struggles in beating the Patriots, among other criticisms.
"I've been hearing about how tryhard Mike Tomlin is on Minecraft," Bell said. "I haven't played Minecraft, so I don't know how insane, or much time he actually had to put on to do that dang city, that dang world that he built. He was building worlds, and we're sitting
here trying to beat the Patriots. That's why we're not going to beat the Patriots. He's building worlds, but he ain't making plays for me. He over there making buildings, but he not drawing up plays for me. F--- Minecraft."
Tomlin shared that he took up playing Minecraft in 2013 to 2014 in an attempt to bond with his kids, which resulted in a beautifully crafted world that features high-rise apartments, hotels, rooftop penthouses, a baseball stadium, a soccer stadium, conference rooms, and even businesses like PNC Bank and CVS.
It's easy for Bell to criticize Tomlin for having a Minecraft hobby when the Steelers' playoff struggles were what they were, but Tomlin claimed that this was his way to decompress from football, not something he'd do instead of coaching.
