Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, rejoice! The Steel City brand of football has moved to 4-2 on the regular season following an exciting overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Buckle up, as there were plenty of studs — and absolute duds — to recognize in the Week 6 win.
From a fourth-year defensive tackle to a former Buccaneer turned Steeler having an outstanding game against Tampa Bay, here's a look at the biggest winners and losers from Pittsburgh's Week 6 victory.
Winners
Keeanu Benton
Benton was responsible for multiple batted-down passes and key plays against the run. Struggling earlier in the season, Benton was battling an ankle injury this week in practice but didn't let that stop him from having an outstanding bounce-back game.
Germie Bernard
Bernard made a troubling rookie
mistake on fourth down, but he made up for that with an incredible 11-catch, 87-yard performance. Oh, and his game-sealing touchdown grab wasn't bad either. It was an elite outing for Bernard, and he more than deserves his flowers.
Jamel Dean
Dean was outstanding in his homecoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording multiple pass breakups and an insane fourth-quarter interception that was yards away from being a pick-six. Dean was lights out in Tampa.
Chris Boswell
Boswell was originally headed straight to our losers list after his 48-yard miss, but he managed to connect on a 58-yard field goal (twice, thanks to the two-minute warning) that tied the game for the Steelers. He also hit a 52- and 39-yarder earlier in the game, which broke the team's all-time field goal record.
Jalen Ramsey
Ramsey is by far the most underrated defender on the Steelers' roster. He's been outstanding in coverage, extremely versatile, and has made several huge plays early in 2026. This was evident in the Week 6 win over the Bucs, where Ramsey's second sack of the game sealed a Pittsburgh victory in overtime.
Losers
Special teams
Pittsburgh's special teams were responsible for far too many costly penalties, including an unnecessary blindside block that took away Kaden Wetjen's 53-yard kick return. Whether it's blown kick coverage assignments or costly penalties, the special teams unit has been terrible. Here's to hoping the Steelers can turn things around during the bye coming in a few weeks.
Mike McCarthy's clock management
What on earth was Mike McCarthy thinking? With less than two minutes remaining and first-and-goal from the Buccaneers' three-yard line, McCarthy called two pass plays and only one run, which resulted in Tampa Bay keeping one of its timeouts after Boswell's field goal. It somehow got worse, as the Buccaneers faced a 53-yard field goal on fourth down, and McCarthy let tremendous time go off the board before calling a timeout. The Steelers, who were left with eight seconds after the Bucs' game-tying field goal, couldn't do anything with the time remaining and went straight to overtime in a game that should've been sealed after Dean's interception.
