The Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 7 Paris trip has started off with some trouble, as the team was forced to cancel their Friday practice plans do to some weather issues.
According to McCarthy, weather concerns, scheduling, and acclimation to Paris played a role in the decision to cancel Friday's practice.
"We had two plans coming in. Just really wanted to acclimate the players after the long flight, just based off the communication with the weather and the reality of the timing, too," McCarthy said. "We had to make the decision before we landed just to put it together. But frankly, driving by, I wish we would’ve stopped. But this is part of our plan."

For reference, Paris was under an orange wind warning on Friday, with gusts reaching up to 43 mph and there also being a 92% chance of rain throughout the day. This likely played a big role in McCarthy's decision.
Yikes. From travel plans that gave the New Orleans Saints a four-day head start to canceling practice before an important Week 7 game, it's fair to say the Steelers may have mismanaged the international trip so far.
Here's to hoping the Steelers can find a way to get acclimated in a hurry, as the Saints have done everything they could as a team to be at 100% for the Paris game. Missing their first practice in Paris isn't ideal, but if it helps the Steelers shake off the long flight, then so beit.
