Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell was tied to an ugly field goal miss during the Week 6 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but what if I told you the botched kick wasn't entirely his fault?
Courtesy of former Steelers QB Charlie Batch's take on social media, fans were able to learn that holder Cameron Johnston and the unturned laces of the football were more to blame for Boswell's missed 48-yard field goal.
"Johnston has to turn the laces," Batch wrote via X. "The kick generally ends up where the laces are facing. Unfortunate miss for Boswell."

And wouldn't you know it, the laces were facing wide left,
exactly where Boswell's kick wound up. Luckily, the Steelers kicker was able to nail the next four field goal attempts, 52-, 39-, 58-, and 20-yarders, making history in the process.
Through six games, Boswell currently holds a 76.5% field goal percentage, which, if the season ended today, would be the third-worst of his 12-year career. Here's to hoping the special teams unit can clean things up in a hurry to prevent any more hold issues and help Boswell continue to solidify his name as one of the all-time greats.
