As if the injury situation for the Pittsburgh Steelers couldn't get any worse, the team received a terrible update for a key offensive weapon.
According to Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy, 5,000-yard veteran wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., who's been dealing with a foot injury over the past several weeks, reaggravated the injury and is now expected to be out multiple weeks.
Traded from the Colts to the Steelers in March 2026, Pittman has played in 98 career games and made 89 starts. He's recorded 5,343 yards and 25 touchdowns over his ongoing seven-year NFL career.
Pittman had a strong start to his 2026 season with Pittsburgh, leading the team with 58 receiving yards in Week 1 before being ruled out with a foot injury in Week 2. Pittman returned
in Week 3, but he didn't seem to be at 100%. He was then spotted with his foot propped up on a scooter following the Week 4 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
With Pittman expected to miss the next several weeks, Roman Wilson should take a massive step forward, with rookie Germie Bernard getting some additional opportunities on offense.
