According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers are optimistic that tight end Pat Freiermuth will play against the Buccaneers despite a calf injury suffered on Saturday. Pittsburgh went through a practice on Saturday, which is somewhat out of the ordinary and the starting tight end was added to the injury report shortly after and listed as questionable.
This is on the heels of some good news that starting wide receiver DK Metcalf was removed from the injury report and no longer has an injury designation. If Freiermuth cannot go, Darnell Washington will be the starter and be counted on to fill that void in the passing offense.
