Yikes. Thanks to a new ESPN report, we have now learned that an injury situation plaguing one veteran wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers has gone from bad to worse. And considering the problems the Steelers were already having with their wide receivers finding separation, the timing couldn't be worse.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers will place Michael Pittman Jr. on short-term injured reserve with a foot injury he reaggravated.

Pittman, who led the Steelers with 58 receiving yards in the regular-season opener, suffered a plantar fasciitis foot injury during practice and was subsequently ruled out for the Week 2 matchup
against the New England Patriots. Despite playing in Weeks 3 and 4, some speculated that Pittman wasn't at 100%. He ultimately reaggravated the injury during Week 5 practice and was spotted with his foot on a scooter.
With Pittman sidelined for at least the next four games, expect Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard to play a huge role opposite DK Metcalf. It also wouldn't be surprising if the Steelers attempted to look through free agency or make any trade calls for some additional receiver help.
