As every NFL team attempts to trim its roster down to a 53-man squad ahead of Sunday's 6:00 p.m. ET deadline, the Pittsburgh Steelers have parted ways with a promising depth piece.
According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, the Steelers have released defensive lineman Esezi Otomewo as part of their final roster cuts.

Otomewo, who previously spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars since entering the league in 2022, was brought in as a big part of the Steelers' 2025 offseason plan to shore up their defensive line.
The Steelers' loaded defensive line room, featuring Cameron Heyward, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Keeanu Benton, Derrick Harmon, Yahya Black, and rookie Gabriel Rubio,
didn't exactly do Otomewo any favors in his attempt to survive final roster cuts. But he'd still make a solid pickup for Pittsburgh's practice squad.
