The Pittsburgh Steelers have broken their silence on Aaron Rodgers' criticism of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former chief medical advisor to the president.
Courtesy of a report from Pittsburgh's Action News 4, the Steelers issued a response to the Rodgers-Fauci debacle that took place during training camp on The Pat McAfee Show.
"Discussions around culture and politics can bring differing perspectives, and our players are entitled to their own personal views. With respect to that, I am certain there are a variety of opinions on many topics within our locker room," Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten wrote in an email.
Rodgers really turned heads following his shots at Fauci, in which he called the doctor an "absolute coward" and said
he would "plead the Fifth" during the training camp edition of McAfee's show.
The Steelers were apparently facing enough pressure to issue a response following Rodgers' comments, but it remains to be seen whether anything more will come out of the situation.
