Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers generated some recent buzz at training camp, and it wasn't just because he was throwing touchdowns left and right. It had to do with Rodgers giving his wife credit where credit is due for one big change in his life.
Speaking with NFL on ESPN's Kyle Brandt, Rodgers was asked about his recent heartwarming reunion with his formerly estranged family, but the veteran quarterback credited his wife with bringing them all together.
"A big part of it was getting married and having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to kind of open up to the possibility of coming together," Rodgers said about reuniting with his family. "… It's just really special. A lot of my life has been full circle, I think,
the last year. And that was part of it. I knew it was part of it. And I'm happy to be reunited. That part of my life is a beautiful addition. I got to give my wife a lot of credit for — not that she was pushing me, because she never was — but just the way she loves and supports me. Having her by my side during this process has been really special."
Rodgers' past relationship with his family has been under the microscope since 2014, when his father claimed communication had ended between both sides. Aaron's brother, Jordan Rodgers, added more fuel to the controversy when he claimed they didn't have "much of a relationship." Rodgers took it a step further in a 2024 Netflix documentary when he claimed he and his family had been growing apart before 2014.
It was incredible to see Rodgers reunite with his family a few weeks ago, a beautiful moment that his wife played a big role in making happen.
