Chris Boswell has hit a historic milestone during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2026 season opener against the Atlanta Falcons, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest kickers in NFL history.
With 8:30 remaining in the first quarter of the Steelers' Week 1 matchup, Boswell attempted and made a 43-yard field goal to score the first points of the game. What made the moment special was that this was Boswell's 300th career field goal. He later made another field goal, a 28-yarder, with 12:28 remaining in the second quarter.

Boswell is now the 39th kicker in NFL history to make 300 career field goals, behind Pat Leahy and Jim Turner's 304 career field goals.
Signing with the Steelers in 2015, Boswell
emerged as one of the league's top kickers, earning two Pro Bowls in 2017 and 2024, as well as earning First-Team All-Pro recognition in 2024.
300 career field goals isn't the milestone Boswell is looking to reach in 2026, as the legendary kicker needs just 94 points to surpass Gary Anderson to become the Steelers' all-time leading scorer.
