We are just days away from the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 8 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, a game that carries major divisional standings implications. To defeat the Browns, something the Steelers failed to do a few weeks ago, Pittsburgh will need to focus on these offensive keys this Sunday.
From utilizing an offensive game plan that's been extremely successful in 2026 to finding ways to get the football into the hands of their best playmaker, here's a look at three offensive keys to victory for the Steelers.
Stick with what works: Lean on heavy sets
The Steelers' offense has been at its best with two tight ends or six offensive linemen, generating 6.8 yards per play, which ranks No. 2 in the league, when coming out of heavy packages under center. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Get the football to Germie Bernard early and often
Bernard helped change the game in Pittsburgh's favor a few weeks ago against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Steelers should once again call on their rookie receiver early and often. DK Metcalf hasn't quite been able to step up as the go-to receiver in 2026. But Bernard deserves a bigger opportunity against a bitter AFC North rival in the Browns. Whether it's through bubble screens or short-to-intermediate looks, Bernard needs to be targeted early and often.
Keep it simple: Feed Jaylen Warren
Thanks to his dominance as both a receiver and a runner, Warren has emerged as a top-10 player at his position. Unfortunately, the Steelers appear to be flirting with disaster by splitting his touches with Rico Dowdle. Warren has proven himself to be the far more dynamic running back. Yes, Rico Dowdle is talented, but this needs to be the Warren show in Week 8.
