Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward is one of the oldest active players in the NFL, but you wouldn't guess it from how incredible he's playing in 2026. That isn't lost on well-respected NFL analyst Brian Baldinger, who pointed out how Cameron Heyward continues to defy Father Time.
On a new episode of The Best Football Show podcast, Baldinger explained how blown away he's been with how elite Heyward is playing at 37 years old.
“Cam Heyward, he’s in his 16th year, he might never have played better than he is right now,” Baldinger said. “He’s batting down balls. He’s destroying guards. He ran right through the rookie guard [Austin] Barber, the left guard Zion Johnson. He destroyed those guys.”
Heyward has been nothing short of dominant
through eight games this season, recording 28 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, six batted-down passes, and 2.5 sacks.
Heyward is a major component of Pittsburgh's defensive resurgence in 2026, and it wouldn't be surprising if the veteran defensive tackle is able to add another first-team All-Pro honor to his seemingly Hall of Fame-worthy resume.
