Going into the bye week, the big work for the Pittsburgh Steelers is all about figuring out why the offense cannot get it right in the red zone. Pittsburgh marches down the field, running the football and then inexplicably, when they hit the red zone, completely change things up and start opting for low-percentage throws to the end zone.
Offensive coordinator Brian Angelichio talked to the media about it and when asked about the issues in the red zone, readily admitted it's something they need to tighten up and will spend the next two days working on that very issue. There were a couple of interesting takeaways from what Angelichio said.
He noted that at times, there are run/pass options in the playbook and it varies based on the defense. It feels
like, if this is the case, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is given the choice of a run or pass, he's taking pass, regardless of how the opposing defense is lined up.
