As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers prepare for their Week 6 showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Todd Bowles knows his defense faces a formidable challenge in stopping running back Jaylen Warren.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the matchup, Bowles offered high praise for the multi-talented back, highlighting how rare it is to find a player who excels across every phase of the offense.
"I mean he's been playing outstanding running, blocking, and pass receiving," Bowles said. "You really don't see that, doing everything from one guy. He's doing everything."
Warren’s versatile skill set makes him an operational nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators. Beyond his primary duties in the ground game, his ability to step up in pass protection
gives Pittsburgh's offense extra stability, while his reliable hands out of the backfield force defenses to defend the entire breadth of the field.
For Bowles, containment comes down to fundamentally sound tackling and continuous pursuit. Warren’s explosive playmaking potential means a single missed wrap-up can quickly turn a routine short gain into a game-changing score.
"He's a very good pass protector. He's an outstanding runner, and he can catch the ball very well, and he makes you miss," Bowles emphasized. "You know, you miss a tackle on a guy like that, if you don't wrap up, he's going to take it to the house. So, he's been playing great football."
Following his stellar 188-scrimmage-yard, two-touchdown performance that earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors against the Indianapolis Colts, Warren enters Week 6 riding immense momentum. To escape Tampa Bay with a win, the Steelers will undoubtedly need their dynamic back to replicate that elite level of production against a formidable Buccaneers defense.
