The next month is make-or-break for the Pittsburgh Steelers and their season. If the team cannot get back on track, keeping pace in the AFC North, we could see the Steelers go full rebuild and sell off some big salaries and begin preparation for the 2027 season. This means the 2027 NFL Draft where the Steelers hold four picks in the first three rounds.
In this three-round mock draft, the Steelers get their replacement for Jalen Ramsey and Joey Porter Jr. on defense. They also land two bigtime playmakers on offense who could supplant veterans on the roster.
First round - S KJ Bolden - Georgia
Georgia's KJ Bolden is currently competing with a pair of Notre Dame safeties to be the top guy off the board but we love him as a dual-threat defensive back who could be the heir to a guy like
Jalen Ramsey or even supplant DeShon Elliott at safety.
Second round - WR Reed Harris - Arizona State
Reed Harris is one of our big risers this season and his size, paired with his ability to get separation makes him a perfect upgrade at receiver for a struggling Steelers passing game.
Third round - RB LJ Martin - BYU
Rico Dowdle and Jaylen Warren are both heading into the final year of their contracts and so we opt for LJ Martin who is a crazy blend of size and agility. What he lacks in breakaway speed he makes up for with contact balance and quickness.
Third round - CB DJ McKinney - Notre Dame
The Steelers found a great one last draft with Daylen Everett and this time around they roll the dice on DJ McKinney. Notre Dame has one of the best secondaries in college football and a big part of that is because of McKinney's length and instincts in a long, agile frame.
