DK Metcalf, who? The Aaron Rodgers to Roman Wilson connection was red hot to start the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Steelers opened up the game with a 30-yard catch and run from Jaylen Warren, followed by a five-yard pass, which opened the door for a 38-yard touchdown pass to Wilson. Drafted by the Steelers with the 84th overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Wilson's first two years in Pittsburgh didn't exactly pan out as many fans expected. As a rookie, Wilson appeared in just
one game and failed to record a single reception. 2025 was slightly better, as Wilson appeared in 13 games and recorded 12 catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
In Mike McCarthy's new-look offense, Wilson was expected to take a big Year 3 leap. He showed flashes of excellence during training camp but had a few lowlights during the preseason. It's an incredible sight to see Wilson putting all the pieces together as the Steelers look for answers at receiver.
