It's halftime in Pittsburgh and the Steelers lead the Cleveland Browns 20-6 . This game has been completely lopsided in all phases other than the scoreboard. A late field goal by the Browns helped keep it close but this has been a smothering performance by Pittsburgh. Here are our halftime takeaways.
Mike McCarthy still doesn't get it
Maybe it's McCarthy, maybe it's Aaron Rodgers but this team's lack of awareness in the red zone is off the charts. The Steelers run game has been unstoppable yet in every trip to the red zone, the team insists on throwing the football.
Offensive line is fired up
The offensive line took the comments of Browns defensive end Jared Verse seriously. They have dominated the LOS in the run game and completely controlled the offensive drives.
Maybe run the ball
Feel like we are repeating ourselves but
with how well the offensive line is run blocking and the way running backs Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle are running, this should be all we see in the second half.
Defense playing inspired football
Aside from a few throws to the tight end, the Browns offense has been completely stifled. After so many missed tackles in the first matchup, this unit is playing inspired football, racking up four sacks and two turnovers in the half.
