Forget the usual suspects. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers surprisingly gave his vote of confidence to a wide receiver who's been frequently written off this offseason.
DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. may command more attention, but Rodgers believes one wideout has stood out more than anyone else: third-year receiver Roman Wilson.
"I think the guy out of anybody that's really shown this new staff — because it is a new staff — a lot of great tape is Roman Wilson," Rodgers said. "Roman had a really nice spring. Got to know him on a deeper level during that trip, which was fun."
The massive endorsement from Rodgers couldn't have come at a better time for Wilson, as the talented yet unproven receiver has been getting picked apart by
predictions, analysts, and NFL legends this offseason.
Wilson, who's expected to compete with second-round rookie Germie Bernard for the WR3 role, has the biggest advantage any receiver could want heading into a positional battle: the quarterback's support.
