Despite exciting trade rumors surrounding the team, the Pittsburgh Steelers received potentially bad news before the November 10th deadline.
According to Steelers insider Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh, although previously linked to wide receiver trade speculation, isn't expected to make a move before the NFL trade deadline.
“They’re not looking to make a move, and they’re certainly not looking to get rid of one of their players,” Dulac said via 102.5 DVE. “If they go 6-2, they certainly won’t trade one of their players because they figure they’re a contender. If somebody comes knocking, you never know what might be out there, but right now they’re not actively thinking we need to make a trade.”
Prior to Dulac's report, the Steelers were expected to make
a "semi-big" move for a wide receiver, with a few targets emerging over the past several weeks. Those included Josh Downs of the Indianapolis Colts, Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and possibly Garrett Wilson of the New York Jets.
Here's hoping the Steelers still find a way to change the narrative and pull off a wide receiver trade before the NFL deadline, because the current wide receiver room is dealing with plenty of injuries and has been the team's weakest link in 2026.
