Roman Wilson has been called out over several mistakes that led to costly interceptions during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2026 preseason. Well, Aaron Rodgers just pointed out that the same issues reared their ugly heads during practice.
Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Rodgers revealed that Wilson made a "repeat mistake" that led to an interception during practice before praising the young wide receiver for overcoming adversity.
"Roman made a repeat mistake," Rodgers said via Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh. "That's a good learning experience, because I don't think he's going to do that again. But he did the same thing early in training camp, and we said, 'hey, on that under route, you've got to keep coming.' So I think it's best that it happened
in practice. Roman is a great kid. He's had a fantastic camp. I have utmost confidence in him. He's going to have to play a big role for us. But mistakes can happen. That's a great one to happen in practice. But he's gotten a lot better, and I'm really proud of Roman."
When asked about an INT thrown today during practice, Aaron Rodgers said Roman Wilson made a 'repeat mistake' from earlier in training, but that he is 'proud' of the third-year WR who has had a strong training camp:

Wilson, who was considered by some to be a potential Year 3 breakout, struggled to make the same impact in the preseason that he did during early training camp. Wilson caught just three passes for 23 yards in the 2026 preseason and actually played a big part in two ugly interceptions thanks to miscommunication and poor timing on routes.
While Rodgers downplayed the errors, Wilson needs to cut back on these "repeat" mistakes, as rookie Germie Bernard is waiting in the midst to grab the WR3 role from him.
