When asked whether Rodgers would have returned regardless of external circumstances or team personnel, Tomlin expressed complete confidence in the quarterback’s intrinsic motivation.
"I believe he would have," Tomlin said. "Just spending 12 months
with Aaron, man, this guy has a love affair with football and all components of it—the process, you know, meetings, team development."
While many veteran signal-callers view the grueling heat and repetitive schedule of August practices as a necessary evil, Tomlin noted that Rodgers approaches late-summer prep with genuine enthusiasm.
"He loved training camp last year, you know what I mean?" Tomlin revealed. "Not a lot of guys enjoy training camp settings the way I watched him enjoy it. And so, I just think, man, he's built for it. He's healthy. He's certainly capable, and so I think that he would have strongly considered it regardless of circumstance. That's just my gut feeling."
Tomlin’s observations highlight a side of Rodgers that rarely gets captured in daily soundbites: an enduring obsession with the daily grind of professional football.
