One of the Pittsburgh Steelers' most promising depth pieces and members of the secondary went down with a scary injury at training camp.
On Thursday's practice session in Latrobe, Steelers cornerback Brandin Echols suffered a lower-leg injury in coverage against wide receiver Roman Wilson and limped off the field. Reporter Chris Adamski wrote that is was possibly "painful but not serious, judging by the attention he's getting".

Echols, who signed with the Steelers in March 2025, was one of the lone bright spots on defense last season. Versatile enough to play
as both an outside and slot cornerback, Echols recorded two interceptions, six passes defended, and 48 combined tackles.
Listed as the top backup slot cornerback on the Steelers' first official depth chart, Echols will undoubtedly look to get back into the action as soon as possible. We at Steelers Wire will provide any relevant updates on his condition as more information is made available.
