Jalen Ramsey has had enough! After many continued to speculate that the veteran defender played a role in Joey Porter Jr.'s "back injury" shenanigans and his eventual trade, Ramsey decided to set the record straight in a passionate post on social media.
On Friday, Ramsey called out fan rumors that he had anything to do with Porter's ugly situation with Pittsburgh. Although he supports Porter, Ramsey reminded fans that he's a Steeler first and foremost.
"Aye, yall are crazy lol…" Ramsey wrote via X. "The Joey narrative has to stop! I ain’t tell no damn body to not play lol that’s just flat out dumb! I still cheat when I play madden! I want to be teammates with good players! why would I tell a guy who I think is a top 5 corner to fake an injury
(which I don’t think he was doing anyways. The man was in the building tryna get right at 6 am [and] engaged in every meeting). Why would I not want a chance to suit up with him this year as a PITTSBURGH STEELER? Just doesn’t make sense. Don’t take me being in his corner the wrong way. His business is his business [and] I’m rocking wit him as my dawg… but I’m a Steeler [and] I want all good players to be apart of this team. I’m tryna win!"
It's understandable why some fans would believe Ramsey played a role in the way things played out for Porter in Pittsburgh. Ramsey's 2019 exit from the Jacksonville Jaguars was eerily similar to Porter's drama with the Steelers, which included a doubtful and mysterious "back injury" that ended up in a trade. Ramsey was also a huge mentor for Porter, and the two share the same agent in David Mulugheta. But Ramsey is adamant he had nothing to do with Porter's exit, despite the likely coincidental connections fans are making.
