George Pickens still has a large portion of the Pittsburgh Steelers fan base wishing the team never traded him away, but the wide receiver didn't exactly have a great performance in the Dallas Cowboys' 2026 regular-season opener.
We at Steelers Wire have gone through and analyzed a few performances from former Steelers players to start the 2026 season, and next up is Pickens, who was basically just doing cardio in the Cowboys' Week 1 loss to the New York Giants.
How George Pickens performed in Week 1
Pickens was utterly dreadful to start the season for Dallas. Despite seeing six targets, Pickens caught just three passes for 28 yards. He was also responsible for two costly drops, one of which would've gone for a massive gain. The former Steelers wide receiver is no stranger to duds
every once in a while, but his Week 1 performance was bad.
What to expect of George Pickens moving forward
Luckily for Pickens, a lot of players around the league can chalk up their Week 1 struggles to rust. Pickens will more than likely bounce back from this sluggish start, and the Cowboys should continue to lean on him as one of the league's top receiving threats.
