The Pittsburgh Steelers were incredibly healthy heading into the 2026 regular season opener, but their Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots is apparently a different story — which is especially true for wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.
Unfortunately, Pittman's Week 2 availability is looking bleak, as the veteran receiver was limited in practice on Wednesday before downgrading to non-participant status on Thursday and Friday. The Steelers designated him as questionable to play on Sunday, but the odds may be stacked against him.
Spending his first six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts from 2020 to 2025, Pittman recorded 5,312 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns in his career.
Pittman showed a lot of promise in his Steelers debut last
week, leading the team in receiving yards (58) while serving as a reliable pass catcher for Aaron Rodgers in the win over Atlanta.
If Pittman can't suit up, which appears to be the case, wide receivers DK Metcalf, Germie Bernard, and Roman Wilson will need to step up in a big way. But tight end Pat Freiermuth could also see way more opportunity in his potential absence.
