Week 6 NFL games aren't even over this week, but all eyes are on Paris and next week's NFL International Series game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints. This is because of significant riots and civil unrest in the city over the past several weeks. The NFL released a statement on the matter, per ESPN reporter Brooke Pryor, but has no plans to move the game.
“We’re excited for the first-ever regular season game in Paris, and preparations continue as scheduled for NFL events and the game at Stade de France on October 25. As we do for every NFL game, including our international games, we work closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters. We look forward to welcoming fans to Paris later this
month.”
The game is to be held at Stade de France, which is located within 5-7 miles of where the riots are currently taking place. Kickoff is set for 8:30 a.m. CT/3:30 p.m. Paris time on Sunday, Oct. 25. We will continue to offer updates of the status of this game as well as the situation in France.
