Throughout the process leading up to cornerback Joey Porter Jr.'s trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys, there was contention that the back injury Porter Jr. had was fiction and just an excuse to hold out. Now, based on a report by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, this might be the case.
Schefter reported on Thursday morning that there's a chance that Porter Jr. will make his debut for the Cowboys this Sunday versus the Houston Texas. The Cowboys are in dire need of help at cornerback and want to get him to work right away.
Porter Jr. was listed as a full participant going into Wednesday's practice but his back flared up suddenly at practice leading to him being listed as OUT for Thursday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
There is “a chance” that new Cowboys CB Joey Porter will make his Dallas debut Sunday vs. the Texans, per league source. The Cowboys are going to work to get him ready for Sunday, and need him with their secondary depleted by injury.
