Despite all the moves the Pittsburgh Steelers made this offseason, there are still spots on this roster that are thin and could use some depth. With training camp just days away, now is the time to break down which positions the Steelers need to upgrade before the start of the season.
Tight end
We don't expect new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy to use three tight ends much but this unit is an injury to Pat Freiermuth or Darnell Washington from being in deep trouble. An experienced veteran here could upgrade over JJ Galbreath or Jaheim Bell.
Safety
Of all the positional units on the team, this one worries us more than any other. Jaquan Brisker and DeShon Elliott are nice players but no one is going to gameplan for and behind them, there's not much talent at
all. Of these three spots, this is one where the team might want to consider a trade for a top-tier talent.
Offensive tackle
You would think with three young former first-round picks on the roster, this wouldn't be a question. However, we have no idea what the status of Broderick Jones is and Max Iheanachor is still working to try and pull the starting right tackle spoke away from Dylan Cook.
