According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers are trading former first-round pick Broderick Jones to the Dallas Cowboys. Jones was the Steelers first-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft. According to NFL reporter, the Steelers are sending Jones and a fourth-round pick to Dallas in exchange for a third- and sixth-round pick.
Jones is coming off a potential career-ending neck injury last season and was working his way back to weight and had seen a significant workload in the preseason with mixed results. The Steelers draft Jones' replacement in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft when they selected offensive tackle Max Iheanachor.

Despite his preseason struggles, Jones was the most consistent right tackle on the team in the preseason as he competed with Iheanachor and Dylan Cook for the starting job.
