T.J. Watt exited the field with a frightening eye injury during the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 5 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
With less than four minutes remaining in the first half, Watt was attempting to win a pass rush attempt against Colts offensive tackle Jalen Travis but suffered a concerning eye poke. Watt quickly ran off the field and into the medical tent, grimacing in pain.
Watt, who was drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has become one of the league's top edge rushers, compiling 119.5 career sacks, earning eight Pro Bowl selections and four First-Team All-Pro honors, and being named the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Watt was seen exiting the blue medical tent and was quickly checked on
by the Steelers. It was reported that medical staff were continuing to evaluate his vision and that he's questionable to return. Watt will continue to be evaluated during halftime.
