As the deadline hits for the Pittsburgh Steelers to finalize their 53-man roster, it is being reported that three popular rookies all made the roster with one being a huge fan favorite. According to Steelers writer Christopher Carter, rookie defensive tackles Kevin Jobity Jr. and Gabriel Rubio joins fan favorite rookie running back Eli Heidenreich on the roster to start the season.
Heidenreich was the Steelers seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft and a Pittsburgh area native. Heidenreich as at the venue when the pick was announced and the local crowd erupted when his name was called and he went on stage. Throughout the offseason, Heidenreich showcased his signature speed and agility along with serious position versatility which has included
special teams.

Rubio was a sixth-round pick of the Steelers while Jobity Jr. joined the team as an undrafted free agent. Both played well in the preseason and could represent the youth movement on the defensive line.
