In the days leading up to Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, both sides were caught up in the words of Browns defensive end Jared Verse. Verse decided to do a little public smack talk to the media, calling out Pittsburgh after beating the Steelers earlier in the season.
When Verse got for all his talk was a blowout loss to the Steelers and a headache after guard Mason McCormick picked him up and dumped him on his head. He also got stuffed and shut down all game long and was a complete non-factor on the field.
After the game, Verse doubled down on his comments, refusing to accept that his chatter motivated the Steelers and he failed to back up his words with any sort of action.
Another guy who was talking was Steelers
safety Jaquan Brisker. He didn't hold back on Verse and put him on blast for talking a good game but not walking the walk.
“He should have kept his mouth shut," Birsker said. "All that talk, and then to come out with 0 tackles? You didn't stand on business. He gotta look at himself in the mirror and get better."
