Whether you love him or hate him, Mike Tomlin made a lasting impact on the Pittsburgh Steelers. And that certainly isn't lost on future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, who couldn't help but sing the praises of his former head coach.
On a new episode of the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Rodgers revealed what truly made Tomlin so special and why so many players wanted to play for him.
"Every player on the team, he just had like a personal thing with them," Rodgers said about Tomlin. "I thought that was such an awesome thing that's just not replicated around the league, and I'm sure not in other sports. Such an intimate knowledge of the guys and what made them tick, I think that's why I really wanted to play for him is because they knew
Mike T cared about us. And he knew intimate details and he could recall them and he gave a sh-- to remember that stuff. I think there's a lot to be said for that."
Rodgers also went on to compliment Tomlin's charismatic demeanor, going so far as to compare meeting him to meeting a walking superstar like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant.
Tomlin was both loved and hated for being a player's coach. His style obviously had its pros and cons, but it ultimately resulted in Rodgers giving the Steelers a chance in 2025, and arguably their best shot at a Super Bowl in 2026.
