"It was good for perspective. It was good to just to get a change of scenery
for once, even though I think we were the worst team in football," Rudolph revealed. "Looking back now that it's over and we're out of the losing locker rooms and the death march of December, it's just good, I think, for the general hardening of a man's life that he has to go through something hard."
For Rudolph, experiencing a losing franchise firsthand reframed his understanding of the Pittsburgh fan base and its exacting standards.
"We're spoiled here. We are," Rudolph admitted to Kuntz. "And I think you understand the fan base holding us to a higher standard of playoff wins, which is what we all want. But when you go somewhere else, you kind of realize, 'Man, we got it pretty good in the 412.'"
