After stealing a Week One win over the Atlanta Falcons, the Pittsburgh Steelers are on the road in Week Two, taking on the 0-1 New England Patriots. The Patriots struggled and lost star wide receiver A.J. Brown. This put a lot of pressure on quarterback Drake Maye and he didn't rise to the challenge. Here are the Steelers storylines to follow in this week's game.
Is it Germie Bernard time?
With Michael Pittman Jr. officially OUT for this week's game, will we see rookie Germie Bernard get some significant snaps and some targets in the passing game? Bernard was beat out by Roman Wilson for the No. 3 receiver spot but should get a better opportunity this week.
Which running back steps up?
The run game was rough last week with Rico Dowdle struggling and Jaylen Warren putting the ball on the ground. Warren is
the better back and we hope to see him bounce back with a big game.
The bounce back of DK Metcalf
The season got off to a rough start for wide receiver DK Metcalf. There was definitely some rust to knock off adn it resulted in drops and penalties out of character or him. If the Steelers want to keep pace this week on offense, Metcalf needs to clean things up in a big way.
Can the Patriots slow down the Steelers' pass rush?
The combination of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith combined for four sacks against the Falcons. New England has to figure out how to deal with this and this is with Nick Herbig being all but invisible in Week One.
