Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers
square off with the Buffalo Bills in the team's preseason finale. This means we are just a few days away from the NFL deadline to trim rosters down to just 53 players. For the Steelers, this means sorting out whether or not the team will keep four quarterbacks and if they do, which position goes into the season a man down? Here's our latest projection with one to go before Sunday's deadline.Quarterback (4) - Aaron Rodgers, Drew Allar, Mason Rudolph, Will Howard
We don't see the benefit of having all four quarterbacks on the roster but we will go with it for this hypothetical.
Running back (4) - Jaylen Warren, Rico Dowdle, Lew Nichols, Riley Nowakowski(FB)
It wasn't easy to give Lew Nichols a spot here and we don't see the value in Riley Nowakowski but the team is short on talent at running back and Eli Heidenreich has struggled.
Wide receiver (6) - DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr., Germie Bernard, Roman Wilson, Kaden Wetjen, Ben Skowronek
As much as we love the top three
on this list, the bottom three worry us as far as depth. This was a spot where we considered cutting down to five but there just isn't enough talent to leave this group even more thin.
Tight end (3) - Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, Robert Tonyan
The Steelers' third tight end spot is wide open, but for now, we are giving Tonyan the nod.
Offensive tackle (4) - Troy Fautanu, Broderick Jones, Dylan Cook, Max Iheanachor
The start of Jones' season is in jeopardy but we love this group regardless.
Interior offensive line (5) - Zach Frazier, Mason McCormick, Gennings Dunker, Brock Hoffman, Spencer Anderson
A great young group led by Frazier and McCormick.
Defensive line (6) - Cam Heyward, Keeanu Benton, Derrick Harmon, Yahya Black, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Gabriel Rubio
There's a ton of pressure on this group, especially Keeanu Benton and Derrick Harmon to take that next step.
Outside linebacker (4) - T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig, Jack sawyer
All the usual suspects here, they just need to play much better.
Inside linebacker (4) - Payton Wilson, Patrick Queen, Elandon Roberts, Cole Holcomb
The late addition of Elandon Roberts lets us eject Malik Harrison and his bloated salary.
Cornerback (6) - Joey Porter Jr., Jamel Dean, Jalen Ramsey, Brandin Echols, Asante Samuel Jr., Daylen Everett
This group is great, with a ton of depth and talent. The emergence of Everett at camp really helps here.
Safety (3) - DeShon Elliott, Jaquan Brisker, Robert Spears-Jennings
We left this group at three because of Ramsey but we like Israel Mukuamu if there's room for him.
Special teams (4) - Chris Boswell, Cameron Johnston, Christian Kuntz
The usual suspects here.
On the bubble - RB Travis Homer, S Sebastian Castro, RB Eli Heidenreich, OT Jack Driscoll, CB D'Shawn Jamison, S Israel Mukuamu, LB Carson Bruener, RB Kaleb Johnson, LB Malik Harrison
This team has a large group of guys on the bubble who need to push in the final two preseason games if they want to steal a spot on the final roster.
