Roster cuts are flying left and right for the Pittsburgh Steelers, including one 32-year-old defender with ties to Mike McCarthy.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers are releasing veteran defensive lineman Dean Lowry as part of their final roster cuts.

After playing seven seasons for the Green Bay Packers (2016-2022) and one for the Minnesota Vikings (2023), Lowry joined the Steelers on a two-year deal in April 2024. He appeared in 12 games during his debut season with Pittsburgh but unfortunately suffered a torn ACL during training camp the following year, missing the entire 2025 season.
Lowry, who played for McCarthy in Green Bay, re-signed with the Steelers on a one-year deal
in May 2026. He'll definitely be a name to keep an eye on in terms of potential practice squad signings for Pittsburgh.
