The Pittsburgh Steelers may have found a trade partner for one of their quarterbacks, specifically Mason Rudolph or Will Howard, following an NFL roster update on cutdown day.
One day after trading away QB2 Quinn Ewers to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Miami Dolphins released QB3 Cam Miller as apart of final roster cuts, which should put them in the market for a backup quarterback and in the perfect position for a trade with Pittsburgh.

Rudolph looked better than Howard during the preseason and likely earned the QB2 role behind Aaron Rodgers in 2026. His experience as both a starter and a backup with the Steelers and Tennessee Titans would be valuable
behind Dolphins starting quarterback Malik Willis.
If Miami preferred a younger backup, Howard would make the most sense here. He didn't exactly look great during the preseason but he was once heralded as a future starting quarterback in Pittsburgh. That was until Allar came to town and likely stole that responsibility right out from under him.
Mike McCarthy may have claimed that all four Steelers quarterbacks earned roster spots, but if a trade partner offers a deal the team can't refuse, it's time to part ways with either Rudolph or Howard
