In addition to a brutal loss on Thursday to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers also lost two starters on defense to injury. According to NFL Network Ian Rapoport, the Steelers could be without starting cornerback Jamel Dean after he suffered an ankle sprain in Thursday's loss.
This is in addition to defensive lineman Derrick Harmon who will also miss several weeks with a foot injury from the same game.
The Steelers secondary was already thin but losing Dean for multiple games will be a huge blow to the pass defense. Here's how the Steelers schedule plays out heading into the bye week.
vs Indianapolis Colts
@ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
vs New Orleans Saints (Paris)
vs Cleveland Browns
With Dean out, all eyes on now on rookie Daylen
Everett who assumes a much more significant role on defense. Veteran Jalen Ramsey played last week with a broken wrist and could see a heavy load with Dean out. This is all in addition to the Steelers trading away starting cornerback Joey Porter Jr. on Wednesday.
The #Steelers also could be without CB Jamel Dean for a couple of weeks as he works his way back from an ankle injury. https://t.co/HNQaQxgTWn
