Key injuries have run rampant for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the past several weeks, and the team unfortunately saw another setback on defense in preparation for Week 6.
Courtesy of the team's initial injury report for the Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Steelers defensive lineman Keeanu Benton was listed as a non-participant with a surprising ankle injury. It's unclear when Benton suffered the injury, but it's believed to have been during the Week 5 win over the Colts. Benton was able to return to practice on Thursday as a limited participant, but it's a concerning development nonetheless.

Benton, who was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, hasn't quite lived up to his new $72 million extension through five games this season. He has been hit by a tremendous amount of double teams, specifically the highest rate of all interior defensive linemen, but the Steelers still need to see more out of their young defensive tackle.
We'll monitor Benton's status closely over the next several days, as his potential Week 6 absence would be a massive blow to a defense already missing defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.
