It's safe to say the Joey Porter Jr. contract drama didn't end up the way Pittsburgh Steelers fans were hoping for, as the talented cornerback was inactive in Week 1. But that's not the worst of it, as reports began to swirl that both Porter and the Steelers were considering a trade as a realistic outcome of the situation.
If the Steelers decide to trade Porter, these three NFL teams would be the best fits.
Las Vegas Raiders
Fans may scoff at the idea of sending Porter to an AFC team, let alone a long-time rival of the Steelers, but the Raiders are an ideal trade partner. The Raiders could use a proven lockdown cornerback to help complete their rebuild, but it all depends on whether or not they'd be willing to meet the Steelers' preferred asking price, potentially
as high as a first-round draft pick.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have been in need of cornerback help for the past couple of years, but Porter would more than solve that problem. The Steelers have already shown a willingness to trade with the Cowboys, such as the George Pickens and Broderick Jones deals. If the Cowboys can agree to Pittsburgh's likely premium asking price for Porter, this move makes too much sense.
Detroit Lions
If it wasn't evident in Week 1, when they gave up 410 yards through the air, including 182 yards to wide receiver Chris Olave, the Lions are in desperate need of cornerback help. If Detroit would offer a first-round pick for Porter, the Steelers may have a difficult time saying no.
