Despite being spotted wearing an arm sling early in the week, Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey could possibly suit up for Thursday night's divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
Speaking with Joe Starkey on 93.7 The Fan, Steelers beat reporter Nick Farabaugh shared his belief that Ramsey’s toughness and track record of battling through physical ailments will get him on the field for the short turnaround.
Farabaugh praised Ramsey's unique competitive mindset when addressing his recovery timeline.
“I think he’s going to. I think Ramsey’s a bit of a psychopath. That’s a good thing in terms of how he gets back from injuries. Ramsey is someone that has played through a lot of crazy stuff over his career. In a sling Monday, he’s probably
gonna play Thursday.”

Beyond Ramsey’s individual drive, Pittsburgh’s worsening secondary depth makes his presence crucial. With Brandin Echols currently sidelined, sitting Ramsey would force significant last-minute structural changes across the defensive backfield.
“They kinda need him too, with [Brandin] Echols in concussion protocol, they’re staring down the barrel of starting Doneiko Slaughter in the slot and that’s not a great idea in my opinion. Gets KC Conception in a run game that needs a really good tackler, he’s not a great tackler. They could do several things with Daylen Everette in there and Asante Samuel, and maybe they do but that’s a lot of shuffling in your corner room in four days time.”
While seeing an NFL star in a sling days before a game might worry fans, Farabaugh remains confident Ramsey will tough it out when kickoff arrives.
“So I think he’s gonna be out there. I don’t think it’s going to be a serious wrist injury. I think he’s going to be able to play through it. It sure is a visual to see a guy in a sling potentially three days before a game and then go up there and play a full on contact sport in one of the more physical divisions in football.”
