Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy had some infamous ugly sideline altercations during their time together with the Green Bay Packers, and the veteran quarterback recently discussed these very issues.
On a new episode of the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Rodgers detailed his public friction with McCarthy, specifically recalling one story where they butted heads over calling more run plays than pass plays. Rodgers, however, downplayed the past tension entirely and pointed out that they'd quickly make amends the following week.
"If anything ever happened, it happened like once or twice, like two or three times, maybe," Rodgers said about altercations with McCarthy. "Then Monday, I'd go in there
and we'd talk about it. We'd hug it out, and it'd be kind of like, 'I love you, man. I love you too, man. I'm just a competitor. I'm just getting mad in the moment. Sorry.'"
Heyward then teased the veteran quarterback that he wanted to see Rodgers and McCarthy hilariously blow up on each other. But Rodgers laughed it off and said there's too much love and respect between him and McCarthy at this stage in their careers.
